Head of the team : Pascal Maillard. Permanent members.
The team embraces various research topics in theoretical and applied probability:
Functional inequalities and concentration
Applications in biology, ecology and health
Random matrices, non-commutative probability, random algebraic structures
Discrete probabilistic models
Mathematical physics and applications to quantum mechanics
Branching processes
Stochastic processes and their applications
Interactions
The probability team interacts mainly with the following teams :
Team life
It revolves around the Probability seminar held on Tuesday mornings. Several other seminars and working groups, in which all or part of the team participates, are regularly organized, including :
the monthly seminar Mathematics, Biology and Health, jointly organized with the Partial Differential Equation team and the Statistics and Optimization team,
the Mathematics and Physics seminar, at the interface between the IMT and the LPT (Laboratory of Theoretical Physics).
