Welcome to my web page!
Introduction
I am a research scientist at IRT Saint Exupéry, Toulouse, working in the DEEL project on machine learning theory and applications to safety-critical systems. I am also associate researcher at the Institut de Mathématiques de Toulouse. I am currently on leave from Université Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier where I previously held an assistant professor position.
Since 2020 I have been leading the Uncertainty Quantification group within the DEEL project. This team carries out research on conformal prediction and develops the open-source PUNCC library.
I obtained my habilitation (HDR) on March 4, 2025. You can download my manuscript.

Looking for PhD candidates
I am looking for two PhD candidates for Fall 2026, with research internships starting in Spring 2026. The topics are reliable uncertainty quantification for computer vision or time series through deep learning, with applications to railway systems. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in statistics and machine learning theory, together with a strong coding experience with modern deep learning frameworks.
Research interests
My research interests are in statistics, machine learning theory, and applications. I like to work on the mathematical analysis of learning problems and algorithms, in settings ranging from classical statistical assumptions to fully adversarial environments.
- Sequential learning theory (adversarial online learning, bandit algorithms, zeroth-order optimization).
- High-dimensional or nonparametric regression and classification.
- Lower-bounds for learning, approximation, and optimization.
- Deep learning theory.
- Predictive uncertainty quantification.
- Applications: recommender systems, ad auctions, aircraft trajectory optimization, certification of safety-critical systems with ML components.
