Virtually Abelian solutions of linear recurrence equations

Résumé : Given a linear recurrence L with polynomial coefficients, we want to prove that the Galois group of L is virtually Abelian or not, and in the positive outcome, compute the solutions and the Galois group. Thanks to a Theorem of Singer, the possible virtually Abelian groups are much more simpler than in the differential case, especially in the non connected case. We prove various bounds on the size of these Galois groups and a method to compute the Galois group of L in reasonable time. Finally, we define a canonical way to write the solutions such that the Galois group of L can be read’’ on the solutions.

Generalized linear cellular automata and difference Galois theory

Résumé : Generalized non-autonomous linear cellular automata are systems of linear difference equations with many variables that can be seen as convolution equations in a discrete group. We study those systems from the standpoint of the Galois theory of difference equations and discrete Fourier transform.
