  • Séminaire de lecture M2 Maths Pures

    Lundi 13 novembre 10:00-12:00 - Simon Jubert

A short introduction to riemannian geometry

Résumé : In the first part of this talk, I will explain what a Riemannian
manifold is and give some properties : we will talk about Riemannian
metrics, Levi Civita connection and geodesics. In particular we will
focus on the geodesics and introduce the exponential map and normal
    coordinates.
If it remains time, we will study the length minimizing property of geodesics.

    Lieu : Salle Picard

  • Séminaire d’Analyse Réelle

Lundi 13 novembre 16:00-17:30 - Artur Nicolau - Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

    Oscillation of Holder continuous functions

Résumé : We study the oscillation of functions having derivatives in the Hölder or Zygmund class in terms of generalized differences and prove that its growth is governed by a version of the classical Kolmogorov’s Law of the Iterated Logarithm. Joint work with Alejandro J. Castro and José G. Llorente.
