    Normal distribution is freely selfdecomposable

Résumé : Belinschi, Bozejko, Lehner and Speicher (2011) proved that the classical normal distribution is infinitely divisible in the free probability sense. This is highly nontrivial result, and its interpretation is still unclear. My talk is about a stronger result : the normal distribution is freely selfdecomposable (a property introduced by Barndorff-Nielsen and Thorbjornsen). This is a joint work with Noriyoshi Sakuma and Steen Thorbjornsen.

    Lieu : Bâtiment 1R1, salle 106
