In september 2013, the second year master opens to International Students. In particular all the courses will be taught in English. For more details, see the Poster, and the 2013-2014 Brochure which contains in particular a full description of the courses.

                      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The second year Master "Pure and Applied Mathematics" provides an advanced training and an initiation to research in the following domains: algebra, geometry, topology, dynamical systems, complex analysis, partial differential equations, optimisation, numerical analysis, probability and statistics.

The applied tracks of the degree present a range of applications of mathematical tools to the study, the modeling and the simulation of complex phenomena pertaining to other sciences (physics, biology, mechanics, aeronautics, signal processing, finance...)

Career prospects

The natural  (but not the only) continuation of the second year master is the preparation of a PHD in mathematics or in applied mathematics. The main career opportunities are:

- research and development in the corporate and public sectors,

- academic research (fundamental, applied or interfaced with life sciences).

More information about the careers in math can be found in the SIAM brochure.

Teaching thematics

The degree offers four different tracks:

 Area A: Fundamental mathematics

Area B: Partial Differential Equations, modeling, scientific computing

 Area C: Probability and statistics

Area D: Biomath (in connection with the MIBS platform)

The full description of the degree and the mathematical content of the courses is available in the M2R brochure.
